Located just inside the entry gate at the Goulburn Waste Management Centre, 100 Sinclair Street, the Goulburn Waste Management Resource Shop offers a wide range of quality second-hand items.
Please note: No items will be held, and for staff safety, EFTPOS only – no cash sales and no cash is kept on the premises.
What Is the Goulburn Waste Management Resource Shop?
The Goulburn Waste Management Resource Shop is part of Council’s commitment to reducing landfill and promoting a circular economy. It offers a space where residents can:
- Donate quality, reusable items
- Purchase second-hand goods at affordable prices (shop opening soon!)
- Support recycling, upcycling, and sustainability in our community
By donating, you’re helping extend the life of reusable materials and lowering our collective environmental impact.
Council will accept the following second-hand items free of charge if they meet acceptance standards:
Accepted Items Include:
- Furniture: Clean, undamaged household furniture
- Homewares: Crockery, glassware, kitchenware, cutlery
- Building Materials: Timber, metal sheeting, tiles, fencing, plumbing parts
- Tools & Equipment: Hand tools (non-battery/electrical), garden tools, mowers (any condition)
- Recreational Items: Bikes, scooters, exercise gear, sporting equipment
- Decor & Collectibles: Artworks, antiques, home décor
- Entertainment: Books, DVDs, vinyl records
- Other: Camping gear, musical instruments, mobility aids, doors, windows, suitcases, etc.

For safety, regulatory, and quality reasons, the following will not be accepted:
- Electrical items of any kind
- Child car seats or restraints
- Helmets
- Fire extinguishers or safety equipment
- Chemicals or hazardous liquids
- Knives
- Mattresses, bedding or pillows
All items must meet Council’s Product Acceptance Criteria before being accepted or displayed in the Resource Shop. Items must be:
- Safe to use – Free from defects and meeting mandatory safety standards
- Good quality – No stains, rips, tears, sharp edges, or broken parts
- Saleable – Clean, functional, and suitable for reuse
Items that are recalled, damaged, or unsafe will not be accepted.
