Wakefield Park decision adjourned

Goulburn Mulwaree Council last night adjourned their decision regarding a development application for alterations and additions to Wakefield Park.

If approved the development will allow construction of a new pit lane building, a new off-road experience, ongoing use of visitor accommodation facilities, carrying out of general purpose markets 12 times a year and a number of other additions.

Councillors have asked staff to put together a further report on matters raised in public forum. Staff will go away to investigate a number of issues to provide further information, with a list of these issues included in the minutes. Items to be considered include:

Investigate Phillip Island Circuit operations in regards to noise.
Investigate signage on the track
Clarification of pre-race activities and the time driving begins on track
Activities on no race day
Comment on the economic value to the region
Clear direction on noise categories with these simplified to three categories being red, amber and green
Reduction of the number of red category (85-95dBA) dates to 30 per year
Amber category (75-85dBA) increased to 150 days.
Green category (less than 75dBA)
Provision of noise data to the community via the Wakefield Park website
Suggestion of a black category for prestige event days such as the Australian Superbikes
Clarification around the methodology on the number of noisy days
Consider increasing total number of vehicles that are static tested above 20%
Location of additional monitoring equipment
Conditions relating to compliance
Consideration of additional offsite noise mitigations matters
Condition to nullify the 1993 consent

Council will resume its meeting on Tuesday 13^th July at 6pm. This will again be open to the community, but no public forum will be held.
