Wakefield Park Raceway Statement

Today, representatives of Council and Wakefield Park Raceway participated in a Section 34 Conciliation Conference facilitated by the NSW Land and Environment Court following an appeal by Wakefield Park Raceway against Conditions of Consent imposed on a recent development application.

Whilst the Conference was terminated without a resolution, both parties have agreed to undertake further investigative work in relation to a number of matters relating to noise that is being generated as a result of the use of the facility. The information obtained from this work will be used at a forthcoming hearing of the Court that will be used to determine how noise from the facility will be managed into the future.

Both Council and Wakefield Park look forward to finalising the matter to ensure that the interests of all community members can be reasonably balanced.
