With the current heatwave forecast, it’s important for everyone in our community to take steps to stay safe during the heatwave. Hot weather can be dangerous, particularly for older people, young children, and those with medical conditions. Remember to drink plenty of water, avoid strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day, and seek out air-conditioned spaces whenever possible.
Cool Areas Available at Goulburn Mulwaree Civic Centre
To help the community stay safe and comfortable during extreme heatwave the Chambers and Foyer of the Goulburn Mulwaree Civic Centre have been designated as cool areas for the below periods:
Friday 9 January 2026 - The Civic Centre Chambers & Foyer - 8:30am - 5:00pm
Saturday 10 January 2026 - The Civic Centre Foyer - 10:00am - 2:00pm
These spaces are air-conditioned and open to the public during the hours listed above. Community members are encouraged to use these areas to rest, cool down, and stay hydrated during the hot weather.
These designated cool areas are available in addition to Council’s other community facilities, including the Goulburn Mulwaree Library and the Goulburn Aquatic and Leisure Centre.
