Streets as Shared Spaces

The $488,210, State Funded, Streets as Shared Spaces grant awarded to Goulburn Mulwaree Council has funded the installation of a parklet at Belmore Park on the corner of Market and Auburn Streets.

Walking down Russell Lane is even more uplifting now, with very colourful and vibrant benches and tables, together with solar lighting and a repainted electrical pillar with a fireman, a reminder of the devastating flames of 2019/20.

There will be a Cafe Hub, which will include tables, chairs, benches, and large decorative pot plants, being built in Belmore Park on the corner of Montague and Auburn Streets over the coming weeks, and many more initiatives planned as a part of this grant.

The Official Activation Opening by, The Hon. Wendy Tuckerman, will be held on Saturday 26 November at 12 noon, coupled with Pictures and Popcorn in the Park.

As a result of funding from the NSW Government, trialling innovative and creative community street spaces in Goulburn will build collaborative partnerships, encourage residents to shop local, and increase night time economic activity.

Pictures and Popcorn in the Park

Pictures and Popcorn in the Park– will be held in Belmore Park on Saturday 26 November, with a Christmas theme from 12pm – 9pm. This is a wonderful event for the entire family.

The Marketing & Events Team tell me that it is set to be bigger and better than ever with Eat Street, a Candy Bar and a Kids’ Zone, and if all of the children have been behaving - Santa may even make a special appearance!

The outdoor cinema will feature a screening of three Christmas themed movies over, including The Polar Express, The Grinch and The Holiday. During the evening local musicians will take to the stage with some easy listening tunes and a licensed bar area will be set up from 5pm – 9pm featuring local vendors serving a range of beverages.
