FUTURE OF LEISURE LINK

Council will continue the provision with the Leisure Link Service with changes/reviews to the existing service. These changes can be found within the minutes on Council’s website.

Recruitment will commence immediately for a Leisure Link Coordinator position. Should the recruitment process for the Leisure Link Coordinator position be unsuccessful, a further report will be provided to Council on the future of the program.

All clients, carers and volunteers will be sent a letter thanking them for their feedback and advising them of this decision. All other clients, carers and volunteers will be advised of this decision.

TECHNOLOGY ONE UPGRADE

Council endorsed a Technology One Upgrade project.

This upgrade will enable:

  • Council to create a Customer Portal where rate payers and suppliers will be able to interact with Council. Examples of the interaction will include:
    • Logging in to view rates
    • Pay rates online
    • View applications
    • View animal registrations
  • Council work will be able to be undertaken on all mobile devices
  • Council staff will be able to work in the field

It is expected that the upgrade will occur over the next four to five years.

REVIEW OF CLOSED- CIRCUIT TELEVISION (CCTV) CODE OF PRACTICE

Council received the report Review of Closed- Circuit Television (CCTV) Code of Practice and endorsed it to be placed on public exhibition for 28 days. If no submissions are received, the reviewed ‘Closed- Circuit Television (CCTV) Code of Practice’ will be adopted. This report can be found within the minutes on Council’s website.

COMMUNITY SAFETY WORKING PARTY

Council endorsed the recommendation of a forming a Community Safety Working Party to evaluate Council’s CCTV Program in accordance with Council’s CCTV Code of Practice. The Working Party will consist of:

  • 2 x Council Officers
  • 2 x Community Representatives
  • A Councillor
  • A representative of NSW Police

Expressions of interest will soon be called for from community representatives for this Working Party and an invitation will be sent to the NSW Police Local Area Command to nominate a representative.

Council’s Chief Executive Officer will seek nominations from Councillors for the Councillor representative.

MAYORAL CHARITY GOLF DAY

Council endorsed the cancellation of the 2023 Mayoral Charity Golf Day.

Council will now seek a community organisation to take on the running of an annual charity golf day in place of the Mayoral Charity Golf Day, to allow fundraising to continue for local charity groups.

COUNCIL MEETING DATES

Council Meetings from July 2023 will now be held at 6pm in the Council Chambers, on the third Tuesdays of each month, except for January meetings which will now be held on the fourth Tuesday of the month.

COUNCILLOR REMUNERATION 2023/2024

Council received the report from the Director Corporate & Community Services on Councillor Remuneration 2023/2024 and Superannuation Payments.  The annual Councillor and Mayoral fee will be increased to $21,730 and $47,420 (respectively) effective from 1 July 2023 in accordance with the Local Government Remuneration Tribunal Annual Report and Determination of 27 April 2023.

ACTING CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Council appointed the current Director Utilities, Marina Hollands, to be the Acting Chief Executive Officer for the period of leave from the 28 June 2023 to 10 July 2023 (incl.) and delegates to that officer, the powers authorities, duties, and functions of the Chief Executive Officer.

Council appointed the current Director Planning and Environment, Scott Martin, to be the Acting Chief Executive Officer for the period of leave from the 9 October to 20 October 2023 (incl.) and delegates to that officer the powers authorities, duties, and functions of the Chief Executive Officer.
