Residents of Goulburn Mulwaree are invited and encouraged to come along this Saturday 12th March to Belmore Park to celebrate the City of Goulburn’s 159th Birthday.

Celebrations will be held in the stunning Belmore Park within the CBD from 10am, with the traditional cutting of the cake, and speeches from the Mayor, Federal Member for Goulburn & Minister for Industry, Energy and Emissions Reduction Angus Taylor and our three high school captains. This year will also feature the first presentation of the newly created Goulburn Mulwaree Award.

“There is no better way to start your weekend then with the celebration of our City’s birthday in Belmore Park” said Mayor Peter Walker.

“This is always a very relaxed, fun event, with a particular highlight for me personally being the opportunity to hear from our high school students about what they love about our region.”

“For the first time we will present the Goulburn Mulwaree Award recipients, recognising some of the fine citizens of our area. This local award has been created to recognise outstanding service or meritorious achievement by individuals to the community of the Goulburn Mulwaree Local Government area.”

Goulburn is Australia’s first inland city, proclaimed by a Royal Letters Patent issued by Queen Victoria on 14th March 1863, when the Diocese of Goulburn was proclaimed.
