20 May 2025 Council Meeting Wrap-Up
Published on 22 May 2025
At its Ordinary Meeting on 20 May 2025, Goulburn Mulwaree Council progressed several key community priorities.
Council resolved to move forward with a proposal for Howard Boulevard Park, which involves changing the land’s status from 'Community' land to 'Operational' land. The park will continue to be used as open space until a detailed report is completed to assess the future use of the land.
A 94-place childcare centre at 10 Ben Bullen Place was approved, while a proposed 30-unit co-living development at 61–63 Bradley Street was withdrawn from the agenda due to Development Application DA/0182/2425 being withdrawn from the NSW Planning Portal.
Council adopted the Marulan Floodplain Risk Management Plan (effective 20 June), endorsed road acquisition at Tallong for realignment works, and will enter negotiations for upgrades on Currawang Road following unsuccessful tenders.
Council will workshop questions, for an upcoming survey, regarding bulky waste disposal options. Additionally, Council has recommended offering a wheel-out, wheel-in bin service for residents in Horne Square and Off Faithfull Street. This service will ensure bins are moved to a safe collection point and returned by an additional staff member weekly, while a detailed review of waste collection operations is conducted.
Council also endorsed new members to the Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee and received key financial, investment, and operational reports.
