  Financial support to Ellen Ryan

 Council will provide Australian lawn bowler Ellen Ryan with $5,000 to support her journey to the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England. Councillors endorsed a Mayoral Minute, which proposed allocating Ms Ryan the funds from Council’s Financial Assistance Grant Funding. Council will also write a letter to Ms Ryan wishing her every success in her pursuit of excellence at Birmingham.

Delivery Program and Operational Plan

Council has adopted the 2022-2026 Delivery Program and 2022/23 Operational Plan, and set the fees and charges for the 2022/2023 year, following public exhibition and feedback.

Development at 62 Verner St

Conditional consent has been granted to a proposed development to build two dwellings and a three lot subdivision at 62 Verner St, Goulburn.

St John’s Orphanage

The owner of the former St John’s Orphanage has been granted 14 days to provide Council with a written commitment for a time frame for demolition works on Building A on the site, to be completed within the 2022 calendar year.  Should this commitment not be provided within this time frame, a report will come back to council outlining legal and further compliance options.

Tarago Village Housing Strategy

Council has adopted the Draft Tarago Village Housing Strategy. The strategy, which was placed on public exhibition from October 2021 until 11 February 2022, received seven submissions from the public, and government agencies.  The Strategy is primarily focused on housing growth as a stimulus to village growth and seeks to allow growth in suitable locations, factoring in the various environmental constraints. Council staff will seek clarification from the Environmental Protection Agency and Transport for NSW regarding lead contamination and remediation works and report findings back to Council.

Code of Meeting Practice

A draft Code of Meeting Practice will be placed on public exhibition for 42 days, seeking feedback on a number of proposed amendments.
