Goulburn Mulwaree Council is continuing to prioritise essential services for our community throughout the evolving Coronavirus COVID-19 situation.

Following the announcement from the Prime Minister and National Cabinet last night, Council will today be closing all dog off-leash parks. Outdoor gatherings have been restricted to two people, and public playgrounds, outdoor gyms and skate parks are to be closed.

Council already took steps to close a number of facilities last week, and will now close off-leash parks to discourage gatherings of more than two people.

Open spaces such as our large parks and the Wollondilly River Walkway remain open, however we remind people exercising with their dogs that they need to remain under effective control and on a leash at all times. Social distancing guidelines must always be maintained when using these open spaces, and the community is reminded that these rules must be respected or additional parks, gardens and open spaces could be shut down.

Goulburn Mulwaree Council’s main priority is the continuation of essential services. A list of these have been identified, and this will include water, wastewater, waste collection, cemeteries and environmental health along with on-call services.

Customer Service remains open, but Council is asking community members to please pay rates and undertake Council business online, or over the phone (4823 4444) wherever possible. We are also encouraging use of credit card for payments, and will no longer be hosting meetings with customers in our foyer.
