Road construction and upgrade works will begin on Mountain Ash Road next Monday 18th May, and will continue until December this year.

Goulburn Mulwaree Council was successful in securing $1.5 million in grant funding under the NSW Safer Roads 'Saving Lives on Country Roads program'. The project will include extensive widening, pavement rehabilitation and road sealing along with drainage improvements and vegetation clearing where necessary.

“I’m pleased to see work will now get underway on Mountain Ash Road, which is a road we have been pushing for funding for” said Mayor Bob Kirk.

“We have found this funding program to be very beneficial to our region in recent years, and I look forward to the improvements that will be made at Mountain Ash Road.

Traffic management will be in place during these times to ensure that works progress safely, and delays are kept to a minimum.

The road will remain open to traffic at all times, but there will be some delays throughout the project on this route between Marian Vale Road and Jerrara Road. During the works we ask that all speed restrictions and traffic controls are adhered to so as to we can ensure the safety of workers and the public. Whilst all measures will be taken to minimise any inconveniences, your cooperation will be greatly appreciated during this period.
