Goulburn Mulwaree Council have made the difficult decision to postpone the Steampunk Victoriana Fair due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions.

The event, which was scheduled for October, will now be shifted to March 11th - 13th, 2022. A fireshow will be planned for Friday evening, and all stallholders and performers booked for the event will be invited to attend the event in March.

“Unfortunately with the case numbers still growing in NSW it is just not feasible to continue the planning work for Steampunk” said Mayor Bob Kirk.

“The event attracts people from right around NSW and from as far as Tasmania, Victoria, Queensland and the Northern Territory, and at the moment it is hard to see the borders being open by early October.

“We’re very disappointed not to be able to hold the event as planned this year, but we are pleased we have only had to postpone until March 2022 which is not too far away” said Julianne Salway, Council’s Museums Officer and the event coordinator for Steampunk Victoriana Fair.

“I hope that we will get the same stallholders and performers back in March, and by then will be able to welcome people from around Australia once again.”

The Steampunk Victoriana Fair is a chance to travel through time, as it never was. The retro-futuristic fair has clothing, art and music on offer with a chance to dress up in the genre that melds the classical Victorian era with industrial progress (and all things powered by steam). It is held at the Goulburn Historic Waterworks and is now scheduled for March 12th & 13th, 2022.
