Goulburn Recreation Area is set to become an even busier hub of activity throughout the next six months, with a packed calendar of events highlighting the potential of the facility which includes the Veolia Arena and Grace-Millsom Centre.

Sixty eight major events are booked in between now and Christmas, with these including diverse events such as the Lilac Time Ball, an Oktoberfest Beer Festival, State Hockey Championships, a Beach Boys Concert and more.

Mayor Bob Kirk said it is fantastic to see the community taking advantage of the Rec Area, which is fulfilling the vision Council originally set out five years ago.

“We did always know the facility had great potential and it is pleasing to see such a great range of events coming to the region to utilise the Veolia Arena or Grace-Millsom Centre. This weekend we have the Pictures & Popcorn being held there to kick off the school holidays, which I’m sure will draw a large crowd.

“Events such as the hockey bring an economic boost to the region, while the Beach Boys concert and Oktoberfest will be new offerings for the Goulburn region that are sure to draw a crowd of both locals and visitors.”

The Goulburn Recreation Area’s 2020 calendar is also quickly filling up, with a scheduled Suncorp Super Netball Pre-season game between the NSW Swifts and Sydney Giants, an Australian Street Rod Nationals event and the usual favourites such as the Goulburn Show and Convoy 4 Kids.
