Goulburn Mulwaree Council will begin work in the coming weeks on the new intersection at Marys Mount and Crookwell Road.

The project will be fast tracked, after Transport for NSW announced they will fully fund construction of the $900,000 intersection which Council expects to have completed by July this year.

The new intersection will include significant road widening of Crookwell Road to enable a right hand turn in lane to improve access to Marys Mount Road. Pedestrian refuge islands and kerb and gutter works will also be included as part of the project.

“This is a brilliant outcome, and it shows the benefits of Council and Transport NSW working together in close collaboration for the benefit of our community” said Mayor Bob Kirk.

“The Marys Mount area is our fastest growing suburb, with plenty of future growth expected their following completion of the Goulburn Mulwaree Urban & Fringe Housing Strategy. It’s essential that this intersection is upgraded to ensure the safety of our community on these roads.”

Goulburn Mulwaree Council will now reshuffle our works program for the remainder of the 2019/20 financial year to prioritise this project.
