Goulburn Mulwaree Council invites community members to the opening of the Health and Wellbeing Precinct on the 21st September in Victoria Park, Goulburn. Come along for the official opening of the Ken Robson Pavilion, Rage Cage Multi-Sports Court and the Goulburn Skate Park Extension.

Mayor Bob Kirk is looking forward to the official opening of the three facilities: “The Health and Wellbeing Precinct Opening will be a great community day out, with the opportunity to see and use these new facilities for those who haven’t already. These projects could not have been undertaken without funds from the NSW Government, Federal Government and Cricket NSW and I wish to thank them for their support.”

The recently completed Ken Robson Pavilion, located at Seiffert Oval, includes a great new kitchen, large function space and upgraded change rooms. The space will be well utilised by the Goulburn District Cricket Association (GDCA) and the Goulburn Cycle Club (GCC).

Youth in the region have already been taking advantage of the Rage Cage Multi-Sports Court, which gives all ages the chance to play any sport you normally play on a court. The Multi-Sports Court has basketball hoops, goals and targets so sports such as netball, soccer and handball can be played.

The new extension on the Goulburn Skate Park is perfect for beginners and younger skaters as it incorporates smaller obstacles. In addition to those obstacles there are ‘street’ style skating elements, that many experienced users asked for during consultation for the project.

Skaters of any level will also have the chance to participate in a Skate Jam Workshop run by Totem Skateboarding on the day. There will be two workshops; beginners at 12pm, Intermediate at 1pm and a Skate jam in the afternoon from 2pm.

These facilities were funded through the NSW Government; Stronger Country Communities ($747,500) Fund, the Federal Government ($415,000) and Cricket NSW ($40,000).

The opening of the Health and Wellbeing Precinct will include a free BBQ lunch, commencing at 11am. The day will commence at the Ken Robson Pavilion at 11am, followed by the Rage Cage opening at 11:30am and finishing at the Skate Park Extension at 12pm.
