Goulburn Mulwaree Council today held its largest ever Citizenship Ceremony, officially welcoming 37 new residents into the Goulburn community as Australian citizens.

Mayor Bob Kirk officiated at the ceremony, and was joined by Deputy Mayor Peter Walker for the certificate presentation to each new citizen.

“It was a brilliant event, with such a diverse, excited group of new citizens.” Said Mayor Kirk.

“We are privileged to live in Australia, and in the wonderful Goulburn community, and these ceremonies have always been a reminder of this to me.”

“On Tuesday we welcomed new citizens from France, India, South Korea, Britain, Thailand, Fiji, Ireland, Tonga, New Zealand, Zimbabwe and the Philippines.”

Following the ceremony the new citizens along with family and friends enjoyed morning tea with Mayor Bob Kirk and Deputy Mayor Peter Walker.

Photos taken throughout the ceremony are available to view on the Goulburn Mulwaree Council Facebook page.
