Proposed Quarry – 63 Curlewin Lane, Boxers Creek

Council will make a submission to the Department of Planning & Environment regarding this proposed quarry and will seek that road and traffic impact, environmental and biodiversity impacts and a number of other factors are included as part of an Environment Impact Statement.

This quarry has already been refused three times since 2011, and Council is incredibly frustrated that the applicant is an abuse of process, unreasonable and not in the public interest.

Subdivision of land in Hovell Street

Council has been requested by an adjoining land owner to provide access to their proposed development at 30A Sloane Street. Council resolved to approve in principle, without prejudice, access to the land (30A Sloane Street) subject to a draft Voluntary Planning Agreement to be negotiated.

Additionally, Council is considering a 29 lot residential subdivision on council owned land in Hovell Street.

 Sloane Street Underpass

Council will install a vehicle activated height warning signs instead of height clearance bars at the Sloane Street rail underpass at a cost of $28,000 instead of the $50,000 that was approved in July 2019.
