Energy from Waste Infrastructure Plan

Council stated its total opposition to waste to energy or waste incineration facilities in the Goulburn Mulwaree Local Government area. Councils position is to ensure that environmental and public health outcomes are the number one priority.

DA 0569/2021 – Medical Centre: 152 Auburn Street, Goulburn

Council granted consent for change of use and internal fit out of 152 Auburn Street for use as a medical centre. Councillors were satisfied that parking requirements of the proposal could be accomodated.  

General Managers Contract

 Council will enter into a new contract of employment with Warwick L Bennett as General Manager for a 18 month period commencing on the 1st October 2021 and concluding on the 31st March 2023.

Service NSW for Business

Authority was delegated to the General Manager to enter into an agreement with Service NSW for this program which offers free, personalised support to small business owners.  

Australian Liveability Census 2021

Council received a report with the results of this census. Goulburn Mulwaree’s strengths were found to be a sense of belonging in the community, sense of safety and our natural environment. The three highest priorities for improvement were quality of public space, walking and cycling pathways and condition of open space including street trees and parks.

Goulburn Reuse Scheme update

91% of the reticulation pipelines around the City as part of this project have been completed. In the coming months the tender will be awarded for irrigation, which will see new systems at seven sites.  

Aquatic Centre redevelopment update

Tiling of walls and pools within the new centre is well underway and external cladding of the pool hall is also nearing completion. The project has reached the 70% milestone.

Goulburn Performing Arts centre update

Plastering and service installation (hydraulic, fire, electrical, mechanical and IT services) continued in August and early September. The project practical completion date has been moved back due to weather and COVID impacts.
