Social Sustainability Strategy & Action Plan

Council adopted the Social Sustainability Strategy and Action Plan inclusive of some minor changes and additions. The Strategy and Action Plan inclusive of changes will be placed on Council’s website.

  DCP Amendment – Common Street

Council adopted this amendment to the Goulburn Mulwaree Development Control Plan 2009, which includes rezoning of land on Common Street, Goulburn to IN1 General Industrial.

 Strategic Planning Fees & Charges

New fees were adopted by Council for planning proposals, rezoning and development control plan amendments. A procedure will also be implemented that will allow for refunds to be applied or additional costs to be charged dependent on the hours put in by Council staff for each application.

 Tenders Awarded

Council awarded the tender for extension of the compost pad at the Goulburn Waste Management Centre to Denrith Pty Ltd. Council also awarded a tender for solar panels at the Goulburn Wastewater Treatment Plant – these panels will supply approximately 35% of the total power requirements and the system has been designed so it can be extended in the future if needed.

 2020 Australian Blues Music Festival

The 2021 Australian Blues Music Festival will not proceed in light of COVID-19 restrictions and uncertainty around events and festivals.
The $30,000 allocated in the 2020/21 budget will be considered for reallocation to 2021/22 on application.

 Wollondilly Walking Track Update

Council three future sections of the Wollondilly Walking Track, and will now commence discussions with Department of Corrections on the route from Taralga Road to Mortis Street Cemetery via Cemetery Street.

Kinghorne Street Load Limit

Council will impose a 12 tonne limit along the full length of Kinghorne Street, buses will be exempt from this limit, and deliveries by heavy vehicles to a household on Kinghorne Street will also be exempt. Recent traffic counts showed 286 heavy vehicles using this route each day.
