Regional Community Strategic Plan

We are working with Upper Lachlan and Yass Valley councils to prepare a combined Regional Community Strategic Plan. This document will ensure our region has a strong voice in State Government decisions on regional planning and funding.

Community consultation for the strategic plan is now underway, and workshops were held on Wednesday night in Tarago & Goulburn. Another workshop will be held on Friday afternoon in Marulan from 5pm at the Marulan Hall.

If you were unable to attend the workshops you can still have input into the plan; a community survey has been made available. The survey is available at Customer Service in the Civic Centre (184 Bourke Street, Goulburn), or visit our website or Facebook page for the link.

White Ribbon March

The White Ribbon March will take place this Friday from 11:30am. The march will go up Auburn Street, from Verner Street to Belmore Park. Short delays for traffic may occur, but this is an important cause that is worth participating in. White Ribbon is Australia’s campaign to prevent men’s violence against women, and one I am a strong supporter of. Domestic violence is never okay, and it’s up to us all to build a future free from violence and abuse.

I’d like to encourage you to attend the Heroes and She-roes ‘White Night’ all-ages event being held in support of White Ribbon if possible. White Night will be held on Friday night at the Southern Star Function Centre at 43 Reynolds Street, Goulburn.

The theme for the night is fancy dress and masquerade, with everyone encouraged to wear something white to signify equality and unity. Entry is $10 and includes food and a drink. We’d like to encourage all ages to attend the event – it’s important that adults set the example for our younger generations; equality is something we all must strive for.

Growing a bush-tucker garden

Learn how to grow a bush tucker garden at this workshop at the Goulburn Community Garden on Friday 2nd December from 10am. You will also learn about soil requirements, harvesting and designing with bush food plants. For more information and tickets visit goulburncommunitygarden.org.au
