Trees
in roundabouts
Installation
of trees in new roundabouts will be considered in the design phase with one to
be included in the Bourke/Verner Street roundabout which is included in the
2017/18 capital works program. The Bourke/Clifford Street and Bourke/Bradley
Street roundabouts will also have trees installed in 2017/18.
In 2018/19
trees will be installed in the roundabouts at Citizen/Hurst Streets,
Victoria/Kinghorne Streets and Forbes/Park Road.
Aboriginal Employment
Strategy & Reconciliation Action Plan
Council will establish a
community working party to develop and recommend to Council a Reconciliation
Action Plan. Cr Alfie Walker and Cr Peter Walker will be the Council
representatives on this Working Party.
The General Manager will also
include in the Workforce Action Plan strategies that will encourage more
Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people to participate in the Council
workforce. This workforce plan will be presented to Council for comment prior
to being accepted.
Road Naming – Marulan
Councillors received two reports
in regards to road naming in Marulan. Council placed five road names on public
exhibition for 14 days; these names are Leicester Road, Southdown Road,
Corriedale Drive, Herdwick Place and Myruna Drive.
Convoy
for Kids
Council moved to support this event by paying for
the hire fees for Goulburn Recreation Area from the Financial Assistance budget
and providing traffic control.
Communications
Facility at Ridge Street
Council endorsed a standard agreement for
Communications Facilities on Council land. Council agreed to a 50% discount on
the rental fee for two antennae proposed by Ooki Pty Ltd and a 100% discount on
the rental fee for the antennae servicing Tarago. The level of these discounts
will be reviewed annually.
