Road Safety Officer's Role
The road safety officer assists in the localisation of state-wide road safety campaigns, works with the community and other key road safety stakeholders to develop road safety promotions and helps police in publicising traffic enforcement.
The RTA believes that in many areas, success in modifying people's behaviour has largely come from a combination of educational programs, legislation, enforcement and appropriate engineering solutions, together with measures to make it easier for people to behave safely.
The Road Safety Officer endeavours to implement these principles in all activities undertaken.
The current Road Safety Officer is Claire Bonner.
