Waste Water Treatment
Last modified: November 9, 2009 - 10:45 PM
The Goulburn Waste Water Treatment Plant was originally constructed in 1915, with augmentations being carried out in 1926, 1975, 1988 and 2006.
This plant is a trickling filter plant, which provides primary and secondary treatment before the effluent is transferred to Gorman Road into storage dams and then irrigated at Council's farm, the Racetrack and the Cookbundoon Sporting Fields. Approximately 2300 megalitres of effluent is treated each year, however this is subject to change depending upon rainfall.
