Goulburn

Raw water is pumped from Rossi Weir located on the Wollondilly River.  This water is sourced from flow in the river or from water stored in Sooley and Pejar Dam.

The Goulburn Water Treatment Plant was originally constructed in 1948 and augmented in 1975 to a current design capacity of 32.5megalitres per day. Raw water entering the plant is flocculated with Alum to assist sedimentation of larger particles, it is then passed through multi-media filters before flouride and chlorine are added. The current treatment process at the filtration plant is not able to remove dissolved salts. This contributes to the hardness of raw water, which is related to catchment conditions. Once the raw water has passed through the treatment process, it is then distributed for use throughout the city to service reservoirs via a series of pump stations.

Raw water is sourced from the Wollondilly River and pumped to the Water Treatment Plant.  The plant was constructed in 1988 and has a capacity of 1500 kL/day.  The plant is a miro-filtration plant.  Chlorine is added to the water for disinfection.
