10 Economic Development

Goulburn Mulwaree Council is strongly focused on assisting businesses of all sizes and has achieved much success in boosting the growth of the local economy. Council’s Economic Development and Administration Unit plays an important role in shaping the area’s current and future vitality and prosperity and in facilitating the area’s role as a leading New South Wales business location.

Council has taken a proactive approach through its development and marketing of industrial land, the formation of an Economic Development and Tourism Advisory Committee with community representation, and its involvement with a wide range of organisations and other authorities involved in Economic Development.

Council actively encourages new businesses in the region; and has most recently been successful in encouraging outside companies to relocate from outer Sydney suburbs.

The region has a number of strong competitive advantages for business and industry. These include location, infrastructure and competitive land prices.

When coupled with the range of lifestyle options, the Goulburn Mulwaree region becomes a very attractive package.

A supportive Council, with a 'can do' approach to customer service has resulted in some very happy new Industrial developments for Goulburn and the region.
