The Goulburn Recreation Area complex is located at 47-131 Braidwood Road, on the corner of Bungonia Road.  The complex occupies 45 hectares of land alongside the Mulwaree River.  It is a Crown Reserve with Council as Trustee managing the complex.  Council is assisted by a "Committee of Management" consisting of representatives from each of the main Recreation Area users. 

Main use of the Recreation Area consists of:

  1.  Greyhound Racing
  2.  Harness Racing and Training
  3.  AP&H Society (Show Society)
  4.  Basketball
  5. Poultry Fanciers
  6. Rodeo
  7. Dressage  

The Recreation Area may be booked for use by the community.  A list of fees and charges for use of the facilities may be found in Council's adopted fees and charges schedule that is subject to change each financial year.

  • Race meetings and associated training

  • Greyhound dog racing and training
  • Agricultural Shows
  • Other shows and sales
  • Rodeo and camp drafting events
  •  Advertising
  • Camping using a tent or caravan, subject to campground terms and conditions.  (Note that the use of the camp areas can only be in association with events that are held at the Goulburn Recreation Area.)

  • Exhibitions and functions
  • Motor shows
  • Music events
  • Filming (subject to Council's Commercial Filming policy)
  • Markets
  • Meetings and conferences
  • Swap meets
  • Stabling and training of horses
  • Catering
