Royal Letters Patent issued by Queen Victoria on 14 March 1863 established the Diocese of Goulburn, giving Goulburn city status and making it Australia's first inland city.

The grand city of Goulburn NSW will be turning 150 on 14 March 2013 and to celebrate a month long program of activities has been planned. A community celebration will take place on the 16 March 2013 with a street parade showcasing Goulburn's rich history, a free carnival for the kids, Amber Laurence will be entertaining the crowds in Belmore Park and to top it all off there will be fireworks lighting the sky above St Saviours Cathedral.  Bring along the whole family and come and be apart of Goulburn's great history and great future.  For a full list of events please refer to the website www.goulburn150.org.au.

Giant 150th Birthday Street Parade

This will be a spectacular event showcasing the evolution of our community. We are asking individuals, groups and organisations of all typoes to either dress up or design a float to represent the period they best fit into as well as people to represent modern day Goulburn.
