James King’s recent paintings continue an interest in rural communities,
particularly those in the Monaro district of Southern NSW that form the gateway to the Snowy Mountains which has led him to explore an extraordinary event in Australia’s history since European settlement: The building of the Snowy Hydro Scheme in 1950’s and the effect it has had on the communities of the Monaro and other regions. Adaminaby is the central focus of this exhibition.
