The 2007 Australian Street Rod Federation Nationals held in Goulburn were a huge success, and the 2009 event promises to be even bigger. Up to 1000 street rod and custom vehicles expected to ROAR into Goulburn for Easter 2009!
Council staff have been working closely with the members of the Nationals committee and as a result, some major improvements to the Goulburn Recreation and Showground Area have taken place. Onsite camping will be available, and a new set of sealed tracks for cruising and travel between the scrutineering and rod repair shop precinct are in place.
Entertainment will include Rock–n-Roll and Rock-a-Billy bands, a DJ van, side show alley and children’s disco.
Organisers of the event would like the people of Goulburn to be involved in this fantastic activity by extending a personal invitation to the local community to attend the driving events at Wakefield Park on Saturday (11 April), Street ‘Krooze’ along Auburn Street on Saturday night and the Show ‘n’ Shine on Sunday (12 April).
This event is also a great opportunity for local businesses to take advantage of the massive influx of tourists to Goulburn (up to 10,000 visitors are expected) over what is usually a fairly quiet period.
