Local Traffic Committee
The Local Traffic Committee (LTC) is not a committee of Council under the meaning of the Local Govt Act, 1993. The operating arrangements for the LTC are contained within the document “A guide to the delegation to Councils for the regulation of traffic” issued by the RTA.
The role of the LTC is to consider the technical aspects of any proposal.
The merits of any action from a public perspective is the responsibility of the Council and thus residents views should be taken into account by the Council rather than the LTC. However, there is nothing preventing the LTC from agreeing to allow members of the public to address the committee. In this case, the public shall leave the meeting before the committee debates and votes on the issue.
