Cr Geoff Peterson
Cr Geoff Peterson was elected to Council in a by-election held on 20 June 2009. The by-election followed the resignations of Crs Max Hadlow and Keith Woodman, due to illness, earlier that year.
Cr Peterson was born in Goulburn and attended Bourke St and West Goulburn Primary schools, and then Goulburn High and St. Patrick’s College secondary schools.
Cr Peterson left Goulburn in 1970 to continue study and gain employment. After working and studying in Sydney, Wollongong, Shellharbour, Adelaide and Melbourne, Cr Peterson returned to live in his home town in 1989 after accepting a position as a Teacher of Management Studies with NSW TAFE.
Cr Peterson or Peto, as he is most often referred to, is well known in the district due in large part to his involvement in rugby league and also due to his long running Sideline Eye column in the Goulburn Post newspaper.
Cr Peterson intends focusing his energies as a Councillor on economic development, with a watchful eye on preserving the unique lifestyle advantages that derive from living in a country town.Contact details
