Cr Geoff Kettle

Councillor Geoff Kettle ran for Council in the 2004 election and was elected to Goulburn Mulwaree Council in June 2009.

Cr Kettle and his partner of 16 years, Sharyn, own the Marulan Newsagency and Convenience Store, and he is also the Media and Policy Advisor to Federal Member for Hume Alby Schultz. He has two adult daughters, an adult step daughter and three granddaughters. 

Cr Kettle is a fourth generation local of Marulan/Tallong. After some time away working in the Australian Federal Police, and also in Queensland and the ACT in the finance and motor industry, he returned to Marulan in 1999 and purchased the Newsagency.  

He is an active member of the community and is a member of many groups including the Goulburn Mulwaree Council traffic committee, Liberal Party of Australia, Marulan Progress Association and the Tallong Focus Group. He lists his interest as economic development and tourism in the local Government area, Federal Politics and his involvement in the Marulan and Tallong areas.  

Cr Kettle’s main goals while on Council are the successful completion of the Highland Source Project, an emergency water supply and the integration of water sources to provide a permanent sustainable water supply for the Goulburn area. He is also working for a better deal for the bush and value service for the ratepayer’s dollar.
