Cr Neil Penning
Cr Neil Penning was first elected to Goulburn Mulwaree Council in September 2008.
Born and raised in Goulburn, he is married with three teenage children.
While he is well travelled and has worked in several parts of Australia, Cr Penning settled in Goulburn. Cr Penning completed an apprenticeship with the local electricity supply authority, Country Energy, and has worked full time in various contracting positions in the industry ever since.
He has been interested in Local Government for the past 20 years “as a hobby”, and has been involved in a number of committees, including Council’s environment committee.
Cr Penning has also been involved in school parent groups and boards, sport management, coaching and refereeing, community action groups and Rotary.
Away from Council, Cr Penning enjoys gardening, building, walking, talking, family, movies, sport, reading and music.
Cr Penning’s goals for his time in office include uniting the district and extinguishing our dry image.
