Cr Margaret O'Neill
Cr Margaret O’Neill was first elected to Goulburn City Council 26 years ago.
She was Deputy Mayor from 1987 to 1993, and was the City’s Mayor from 1993 to 1999. She was first elected to the amalgamated Goulburn Mulwaree Council in 2004. Cr O’Neill’s family has lived in Goulburn all her life, with her family living in the City since 1855.
She is a Director of the Goulburn Racing Club, and is Patron of the Goulburn District Junior Rugby League, Goulburn Basketball and the Goulburn Harness Club. Cr O’Neill is also a Life Member of the Goulburn District Rugby League.
Cr O’Neill has chaired a number of committees, including the Goulburn Sporting Hall of Fame, the Ray Harvey Sports Foundation, Goulburn Mulwaree Sports Council.
She has helped secure grants for the Goulburn Racing and Harness clubs, established the Carr-Confoy Sports Field.
Cr O’Neill aims to work hard for the Goulburn community, and will continue to do so for the next four years.
