Cr Carol James was elected to Goulburn Mulwaree Council in September 2008.

Cr James has lived and worked in the area most of her life, experiencing a rural lifestyle on properties at Middlearm and Woodhouselee. She also spent several years in the village of Taralga.

Cr James is eager to learn and develop a good working relationship with other councillors and staff. She has previously worked with Council on Australia Day and Clean Up Australia day activities.

Cr James has always been involved in fundraising and community organisations, including Rotary, where she is also an Interact organiser and mentor, the Salvation Army Street Van and the Goulburn Young Achievement Australia group. She is also the District Commissioner of Scouting and a cub scout leader in Goulburn.

Cr James has performed regional consultancy for Corrective Services and is a Public Officer for the Goulburn Chamber of Commerce.

Improving Goulburn Mulwaree’s image so Council can promote it as a good place to do business, as well as a friendly and welcoming place to live is one of Cr James’ chief goals.

Cr James has a desire to establish a strong Youth Council in Goulburn Mulwaree, which will give young people the right to make decisions, enabling them to take leadership roles and speak proudly of their city and surroundings.
