Citizenship Ceremonies

Goulburn Mulwaree Council is happy to assist you in becoming an Australian citizen.

Becoming an Australian Citizen is something to celebrate.

The ceremony is a formal part of the Citizenship process. You become an Australian Citizen on the date you attend a Citizenship ceremony and make the pledge of commitment to Australia.

Successful applicants are usually given 3 weeks notice of the ceremony date so that friends and family can be invited to attend as well.

Ceremonies are simple and dignified occasions and are conducted in a friendly atmosphere in the Civic Centre.

A popular option in Goulburn is to hold your citizenship ceremony during Goulburn's Australia Day celebrations in Belmore Park. Often several people are involved in declaring their citizenship at the same time as a public declaration of their commitment to our country. It is always a happy occasion and Australia Day in a great cause for celebration in Goulburn.
